As per House Rule Twenty:
Business papers may be displayed in the Armstrong Grill and private meeting rooms only.
Cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and pagers must be set on silent or vibrate mode at all times while in the Club.
The use of cameras, to include cell phone cameras, is prohibited on all Club property, with the exception of private parties limited to the private party area and at the discretion of the member host. Cell phones may be used in/on the Front Club lobby phone booth, South Lawn, Member Business Center, Sports Deck, and private meeting rooms. The wear or use of Bluetooth headsets is prohibited throughout the Club.
PDAs may be used for silent operation only (e-mail, texting, calendar, web browsing, etc.) in all areas of the club except the Green Porch, Front Club Terrace, Red Grill, and Main Dining Room (except when used as a private room).
Laptops and iPods may be used in the private meeting rooms (to include Main Dining Room when being used as a private room), Kearns Room, Reading Room, Member Business Center, Billiards Room, Pool Deck, and Sports Deck. iPods may also be used in the Fitness Center. When laptops and iPods are used to listen to music, videos, etc., headphones must be worn and volume set such that no sound emanates from the headphones. All such devices must be operated under battery power without the use of power cords of any type.
These policies are intended to recognize advances in electronic communications and to provide for the convenience of members while not diminishing the peaceful enjoyment of the club by all. Members are asked to be respectful of how the use of personal electronic devices may impact the club experience of other members.
Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are informed of, and comply with, all of the above provisions.
