I have been a GVC member since 2006, joining shortly after becoming CEO of O’Connell Electric Company. Our insurance agent, longtime member Peter Barker, had suggested for years that I join the Valley Club as it would be excellent for my business career. Boy was he right!
Although we have had wonderful family events at the Club over the years, my primary focus has been from a business perspective. One thing I tell potential members is that whatever the cost, you will more than get it back from the contacts and great people you will meet. In my mind, it is not a cost but an investment.
We have had many outstanding business events at the Club, including the celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary. This was truly a highlight and many of the hundreds of guests still rave about what a first class party it was. Other business occasions have included administrative assistant celebrations, important dinners and lunches with clients and potential clients, celebrations of major business successes, thank you’ s for a job well done, and trade association gatherings, to name a few. One thing I have found when you invite someone to the Club, they never refuse. It is truly the best place in the Rochester area to conduct business. I strongly suggest you take full advantage of the opportunities present. This is especially true for our young members and I cannot recommend our Club more highly.
